| November 16, 1999 Dear Valued Customer: As you may have read, increasing market demand for hot rolled steel is creating upward pressure on flat rolled steel prices. As of August 1999, all integrated and mini mills that produce hot rolled steel have increased raw material prices and have announced an increase effective January 2000. As a result, Unistrut will increase all Unistrut prices an average of 6% on all orders placed on January 1, 2000 and beyond. All orders received through the close of business December 31 for immediate release will be honored at the old price. Forecasting forward, it appears that the demand in the US market for hot rolled steel is not going to slow. Given the increased demand, it seems that another increase will be forthcoming from the steel mills, possibly in April 2000. Please keep your customers abreast of this as they bid jobs that may not begin until next year. Thank you for your valued business and support. Sincerely, Mike Mendrella |
